Furthermore, you can grow your research network and learn about hot topics and approaches in the field. You present and discuss&nbsp; your early research with other PhD students and a panel of established&nbsp; researchers in the area of the Internet of Things.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the IoT 2021 Doctoral Consortium, we are seeking submissions of original&nbsp; (unpublished) early research by PhD students on all topics related to&nbsp; the design, development, applications, evaluations and adoption of the Internet of Things.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Topics<\/strong><br>Possible topics include, but are not limited to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>APIs and Software Frameworks for IoT<\/li><li>IoT Edge and Cloud Architectures<\/li><li>Web of Things<\/li><li>AI and Machine Learning for the IoT<\/li><li>Sensing, perception, and semantic models<\/li><li>Energy Efficiency and Sustainability in the IoT<\/li><li>Real-world Applications, Deployments and Testbeds<\/li><li>Interacting with the IoT: agency and shared control<\/li><li>Security, Privacy and Trust in the IoT<\/li><li>Societal Impact of the IoT<\/li><li>Evaluation, Benchmarks and user studies<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Important Dates<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Submissions:\u00a0 September 24, 2021<\/li><li>Notifications: October 11, 2021 <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Preparing and Submitting Your PhD proposal<\/strong><br>Students interested in participating in the Doctoral Consortium should submit a 4 page max abstract (including references) using the&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.acm.org\/publications\/proceedings-template\">ACM article template<\/a>&nbsp;(when using the overleaf ACM template choose the&nbsp;<strong>sample-sigconf.tex&nbsp;<\/strong>file) via easychair-<strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/easychair.org\/conferences\/?conf=iot20210\">Doctoral Consortium track<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;describing in English their research question\/problem to solve, its&nbsp;position with respect to the state of the art, their research plans and&nbsp;methodology, and results achieved so far. The student should be the sole or at least the first author of their DC paper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Accepted abstracts will be included in the adjunct conference proceedings&nbsp; (unless opted out by the student), listed on DBLP and published via the&nbsp; ACM Digital Library.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the program, we plan to allocate for each student a separate time slot for a presentation and and corresponding oral&nbsp; feedback by at least two senior faculty members or researchers and other participating student peers. The&nbsp; presentation will be intimate to encourage interaction, with only the&nbsp; session organizer, review panel, and other student DC presenters in&nbsp; attendance. Students are encouraged to submit work at an early stage of&nbsp; development to get the greatest benefit from the feedback from senior&nbsp; researchers.
