The IoT Conference 2025 organizers invite proposals for tutorials. Tutorials may consist of interactive sessions, hands-on training, hackathons, plugfests, demo jams, breakout sessions, or any combination of the above. Tutorials should be of interest to a substantial part of the IoT Conference audience and represent a sufficiently mature area of research or practice.
The organizers of accepted tutorials will be responsible for their own publicity (e.g., website, call for participation) with support from IoT 2025 general chairs, which will announce all accepted tutorials as collocated events on the conference website and via its publicity channels.
Tutorials will be organized on the same day as workshops.
Tutorial Proposal Submission Instructions
Submissions should be submitted no later than 27.06.2025 via email to pantelis.frangoudis@dsg.tuwien.ac.at and dragi.kimovski@aau.at, and will be subject to a rolling acceptance process. Organizers should submit a 200-word abstract, along with a single PDF file of 4 pages maximum, containing the following sections:
- Title, acronym, potentially logo
- Motivation: Why is it of particular interest to the IoT community?
- Detailed Description: content and schedule (half-day or full-day), description of learning outcomes, presentation style, tutorial format, prior knowledge required by the attendees, limitations on the number of participants
- Tutorial Material: if applicable, description of the hardware and software used for the tutorial. Will the software be openly accessible to the participants? With what licence? What do participants need to bring for the tutorial?
- Audience: There is evidence that an existing community of researchers and practitioners could participate in this event.
- Presenters: Name, affiliation, email address, homepage and short biography of each presenter, explaining their expertise in the tutorial topic as well as their experiences in teaching and in tutorial presentation
- Requirements: Audio-visual or technical requirements and any special room requirements
Tutorial organizers will receive one complimentary conference ticket for one organizer. At the discretion of the chairs, tutorials may be canceled if organizers have not registered in a timely manner.
Review Criteria of Tutorial Proposals
Each proposal will be evaluated based on the quality of the proposal, and its appeal to the IoT community. In particular, the proposals should demonstrate the following:
- The tutorial topics fall in the general scope of IoT2025
- There is a clear focus on a specific problem or technology
- There is a sufficiently large community interested in the topic
- The organization and format are appealing for potential participants
